the prayer path

Set aside the noise. Slow your pace. Spend time with the Lord in the beauty of His creation.

A place to walk, listen, and meet with God.

The Prayer Path at Wabash Park invites you to step away from distractions and enter a time of prayer, reflection, and listening. As you move through the grounds, you'll encounter places designed to help you focus on God's presence, pray for others, remember His faithfulness, and hear His gentle whisper.
"After the fire came a gentle whisper." — 1 Kings 19:12

Before you begin

There is no required route or timeline for the Prayer Path. You may visit every station or spend extended time in just one place. Follow the path as you feel led, allowing the Lord to guide your time.

Start with a simple prayer

Lord, lead me where You would have me go. Show me what You want me to see. Hear my prayers, and help me hear Your voice.
Amen.

Prayer stations along the path

Pray for the Church and Our Nation: The Flag Plaza

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray..." — 2 Chronicles 7:14
Pray for Ministry: The Prayer Chapel
Use this quiet space to pray for pastors, ministry leaders, missionaries, counselors, volunteers, conference leaders, and all who share the Gospel.

Ask God to open doors for ministry, provide wisdom, and empower those called to serve in ministry.

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."  - Colossians 4:2-6
Celebrate the Gift of Salvation: Covered Bridge
The bridge serves as a reminder of Christ's saving work. Spend time thanking Jesus for His sacrifice and praying for those who have not yet experienced His grace. Ask God to draw people to Himself and reveal His love to them.

Pray that they would begin to understand the great Love Jesus has for them.  Pray they would see Jesus Christ and the bridge He is from sin, death, and judgement to salvation and eternal life.

"All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." - Rom 3:23
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." - Rom 5:8
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9
Walk in God's Creation: Nature Path
As you leave the bridge and enter the woods, slow your pace and simply be present.

Find God’s Love as you walk through His creation. Let God Love You. Hear His Creation. Know His Presence. Follow His Lead.

Allow God's creation to remind you of His love, care, and nearness.

“For God so loved you that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send Jesus His Son into the world to condemn you, but to save you through Him.”   — John 3:16-17
Reflect: The Cross
Here we remember the price Jesus paid for our salvation.
Spend time in gratitude, confession, worship, and surrender. Consider the depth of Christ's love and the gift of forgiveness available through Him.

“And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
“This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. - Matthew 6:5-15

Pray for Future Generations: Youth Cabins
As you pass the cabins, pray for every camper who has stayed here and every camper who will come in the future.

Ask God to reveal Himself to young people, deepen their faith, and help them remember His presence long after camp has ended.

"You make known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence." — Psalm 16:11
Release Your Burdens: Prayer Wall
In the southeastern corner of the campground and you will find the Prayer Wall next to the path.  There is a supply station to find paper and pen or markers to write a name, a word, a prayer just between you and the Lord. Fold the paper and place it between the stones on the wall. Give this prayer burden to the Lord and do not take it back.

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” - Matthew 6:33-34
Pray for Community and Fellowship: Recreation Fields
Thank God for recreation, friendship, and shared experiences.
Pray that every game, conversation, and gathering on these grounds would strengthen relationships and point people toward Christ.
Celebrate New Life: The Pond
The pond has become a meaningful place of baptism and testimony.

Thank God for transformed lives and pray for those who have publicly declared their faith here. Ask Him to continue drawing people to Himself and making disciples.

"Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. — Matthew 28:18-20
Pray for All Who Arrive: The Property & Entrance Corridor
Pray for guests, retreat groups, volunteers, staff members, and everyone who visits Wabash Park.

Ask that every person who enters these grounds would feel welcomed, encouraged, and drawn closer to Christ.

Pray also for the surrounding community and neighboring churches.

  • Children's Ministry Building

Closing Reflection

As your time on the Prayer Path comes to an end, pause once more to listen.

Give thanks. Rejoice. Trust Him with what you've prayed. Carry His peace with you as you return to the day ahead.
